Amelia Earhart Disappears over the Pacific Ocean

On 2nd July in 1937 the aviator Amelia Earhart disappeared during an attempt at becoming the first woman to complete a circumnavigational flight of the globe.

Flying a Lockheed Model 10-E Electra, Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan were last seen in Lae, New Guinea and disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island.

The minifigure and plane both come from the 2021 set number 40450.
